Read_by_Heart Instagram Reviewer has this to say about Anneka Lowrie's new book release.
Mysterious Ways: A Murder of Crows By Anneka Lowrie ________ What did I just read?! Oh my goodness I loved this book! It dove right in from the very first sentence and never lost steam. I had theories and one was in the ballpark but I would never have guessed the full extent. I did like a few twists which caught me by surprise. This kept me on my toes, and I loved every minute of it! Suspenseful and twisty, the stakes were high, and my suspicions kept shifting. The characters are well-drawn, and I especially love Johanna Kincaid. I am always invested in her professional and personal storylines and some of the dilemmas she faces. The author manages to weave everything together, with elements of psychological thriller and mystery, while keeping the pacing quick and the tension on. Johanna and Angelique Together, they begin to unravel the web of clues that leads them closer and closer to the truth. I just loved the detective/psychic partnership in solving this crime. This duo was fantastic. The strong and supportive friendships Johanna had with many side characters was refreshing. I was captivated by this mystery from beginning to end. This is kinda investigate novel so we're going through the motions of an investigation. It really felt like I was a part of the action, following leads and gathering facts. There were a lot of twists and turns. I was constantly changing my mind on who I thought was responsible. If you like super slow burns with a lot of longing, and a forbidden aspect to it then you'll like this one. It's not the primary focus of the story but it's a nice interwoven element. In a nutshell My verdict is this is a must read for fans of true crime and mystery thriller fans, and everyone else. The process investigations was so incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the first page to the last. Highly recommend it! If you like detective novels with a strong female lead then this is for you!
